Short night for Khris Davis. He "rolled his ankle" per Wendt on the ground out and left the game.

Finally a very nice line from Rolando Pascual:
3.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 9 SO (no wild pitches, no hit batters) Hiram Burgos...not so nice a line is his pro debut: 2.1 IP, 9 H, 11 R (8 ER), 2 BB, 3 SO, 3 HR Helena down 13-4 after 4. Garfield and Mike Roberts have gone deep for the Brewers.
He looks like he just threw up. - Steve Phillips talking about Eric Wedge (6/15/09 - Brewers vs. Indians)

Final: Chattanooga (Dodgers) 4, Huntsville 1
Huntsville Site Game Summary Chick and Giles Lead Looks to Win Huntsville Handcuffed Offensively in Final Game of Series By Brett Pollock / Huntsville Stars Tommy Giles launched two home runs to support seven strong innings from Travis Chick in Chattanooga's 4-1 win over Huntsville in the last of a six-game set Saturday evening at Joe Davis Stadium. The Stars took four out of six to begin the second half and are 42-33 overall, while the Lookouts are 32-43 overall. Chattanooga leads the season series 8-7, as the two teams have split ten games in Huntsville. Giles belted his first home run of the night with two outs in the second inning to give the Looks a 1-0 lead against Josh Butler. It was the second time in the series that Giles took the Stars' right-hander deep in the second inning to give the visitors the early lead. James Tomlin doubled with one out in the third, moved to third base on a Ramon Nivar single and scored to make it 2-0 on a base hit by Eddy Perez, who had been just one for 15 in the series before the single. Butler struck out Tomlin to end the fourth inning with runners at second and third and got Mike Rose to ground into an inning-ending double play to end the fifth. Butler suffered the loss after giving up two runs on five hits, while walking three and fanning five over five frames in the shortest of his three starts with Huntsville. Giles belted his second homer of the night, a two-out shot off of Mike McClendon in the sixth inning to push the visitors lead to 3-0. It was only the second long ball allowed by the Stars' right-hander in 49 innings of work. Chick stranded a runner at third base in each of the first three frames and retired ten in a row before Chuck Caufield led off the seventh inning with his first triple of the season and scored on a J.R. Hopf groundball out. Chick closed his performance by striking out pinch-hitter Jonathan Lucroy with a runner at first to end the seventh. The right-hander gave up three hits, walked two and fanned six in his longest outing of the year to improve to 6-3. Andrew Lambo drew a one-out walk in the eighth inning off of Casey Baron, moved to second base on a Giles bunt base hit, to third base on a Justin Sellers ground out and scored on a Hopf passed ball to make it 4-1. Victor Garate tossed a scoreless eighth inning and Matt Sartor retired the side in order in the ninth to end the game and earn his fifth save. The Stars open a six-game series in Sevierville, TN Sunday afternoon with right-hander Donovan Hand starting for Huntsville against Tennessee right-hander Marcos Mateo. Coverage of the game begins at 3:45 PM central time and can be heard through the internet at www.huntsvillestars.com. Huntsville Box Score Adam Stern tripled and doubled for two of the Stars' three base hits; recent roster shakeups equal increased playing time for Chuckie Caufield and Freddy Parejo, two of only three true outfielders (Stern) on the roster... Final: Palm Beach (Cardinals) 8, Brevard County 3
Brevard County Box Score Manatees trailed 3-2 heading to the top of the 6th, but a messy inning that included a leadoff HBP by Lucas Luetge, a Brent Brewer error, a Roque Mercedes bases loaded wild pitch immediately followed by a Carlos Corporan passed ball, well, you get the picture, the game was lost there; only three of the eight Manatee runs allowed were earned; two more errors in the 9th, one by pitcher Brandon Rapoza, led to two unearned runs; Brewer may have been listed as the DH early on, according to a post above, but that was rectified in the box score; Chris Errecart handled DH duties and was productive; Logan Schafer singled and walked twice, would like to see that OBP (.337) closer to the .360 range; despite two walks, Lee Haydel's .303 OBP isn't cutting it either, even in the Florida State League's offensively-deprived atmosphere; Zelous Wheeler (.219) just 2-for-his-last-22... Brevard County Game Log This squad suddenly has lost its shine, a good chunk of talent, and all its first-half momentum... |

And all that being said, along comes the game recap from the 'Tees front office --
Cardinals Fly Past Manatees, 8-3 (Viera, FL) Palm Beach dominated Brevard County Saturday night, blasting the Manatees, 8-3. The Manatees had an extremely rough day in the field and on the mound, with a total of four errors, three wild pitches, and two passed balls. Only three of the eight runs allowed by Brevard County were earned. Lucas Luetge (4-5) was rocked for five runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks. He also uncorked two wild pitches. Aaron Luna led the Cardinals' attack with a 3-5 day, including two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored. Richard Castillo (2-7) was wildly effective Saturday night, allowing two runs on three hits over six innings to earn the win. He walked five, but struck out nine. His only two runs allowed came on Chris Errecart's towering home run (4) to center field in the fourth inning. The Manatees look to get back on track Sunday afternoon, and earn a series split. Mark Rogers (0-1, 1.54) gets the nod for Brevard County. He will take on Nick Additon (2-2, 3.18) of Palm Beach. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 PM (12:05 Central). |

Final: DSL Angels 19, DSL Brewers / Orioles 8
DSL Brewers / Orioles Box Score As we learned from my fellow New Englander above, we need not fear the 19 runs allowed -- the only Brewer hurler, Rolando Pascual, cleaned up in his mop-up role; Javier (on base three more times), Chirinos, and Barrini are your Brewer batters to scan for... Three hours and 56 minutes gametime with 22 minutes in delays -- Rattlers win 2-1 in 14 innings!
By the way, since the beginning of the season, the WNAM link provided by MiLB.com for Rattler audio has hosed my internet explorer browser consistently. From now on, we'll provide a direct link in the Daily Menu to this better route to Chris Mehring's call: http://radiotime.com/station/s_21351/WNAM_1280.aspx

Would suspect Logan Schafer was told he needed to walk more to move up quickly while he was in Huntsville...hopefully the trend over the last month
continues...
